FMM Perak Members Signing of MACC Anti Corruption Pledge
The event held at the state FMM office was attended by state MACC director Datuk Zainul Darus and FMM branch chairman Datuk Gan Tack Kong.
Mohammad Nizar added that he told the investors that the new government would not tolerate corrupt practices at any level.
“I told them that they are welcome to invest in the state according to the rules and regulations stipulated and no agencies will ask them for under-table money.
“Respecting the positive assurance given, potential investors are coming to see me on a daily basis to invest in the state,” he said.
“We are a friendly, approachable and transparent state government,” he added.
To date, a total of 158 government and private agencies signed the anti-corruption pledge.
Gan, in his speech, said the pledge was signed simultaneously by all the FMM branches nationwide.
He said a total of 45 members signed the pledge at the state branch.
“FMM is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and to commemorate the important milestone, we are signing this pledge concurrently nationwide.
“The event is aimed at reinforcing our commitment towards a business environment built on transparency and integrity as well as free of corruption across the board,” he added.
Gan said the federation always acted above board when dealing with any organisations, be it public or private.
“The presence of our members, which I am told is the highest number of companies participating in the pledge among our branches nationwide, is another testament of our commitment and willingness to work with the new Government to make Perak corruption-free,” he added.
