There are two types of Industry Groups i.e.
a) Industry Groups which are legal entities - they are formally registered with either the Registrar of Societies or the Companies Commission of Malaysia and operate as separate legal entities which are independent of the FMM
b) Industry Groups which are under the aegis of FMM – they are not registered with both Registrar of Societies or the Companies Commission of Malaysia and operate under the umbrella of FMM
Participation in Industry Groups
All FMM and non-FMM members are given the opportunity to join the Industry Groups. To join industry groups which are legal entities, all you have to do is apply directly to the industry groups concerned. As for industry groups which operate under the aegis of FMM, the prerequisite is that you must first join FMM as a member before applying for membership in the industry group.
