Business in Action@FMM, the quarterly magazine of the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM), brings you the latest insights, developments and trends shaping Malaysia’s business landscape.

In this edition, we highlight the findings of FMM’s Business Conditions Survey: Manufacturing Under Pressure in 1H 2026 – Cautious Recovery Ahead. The survey reveals that manufacturing conditions weakened in the first half of 2026, following a period of stabilisation in the preceding six months. Softer domestic and export demand affected business activity, production and capacity utilisation, while rising production costs added further pressure on manufacturers.

This edition also features Malaysia Rises to 15th in the 2026 IMD World Competitiveness Ranking, highlighting the country’s improved global standing and reinforcing confidence in Malaysia’s manufacturing ecosystem and investment potential.
