Covid-19 Disaster or Opportunity: A Lean Perspective [Remote Online Learning]
The Covid-19 pandemic’s human and industrial cost is unprecedented. There has not been an event in this generation that has had such an impact; worse than any recession its overall impact is close to that of a War. And there is no bright light at the end of the tunnel yet.
This training session looks at both the negative and positive (there are some, contrary to what people may feel) impacts on industry. Some good may come out of this unprecedented disaster if it motivates us to begin (or continue) Lean Production System implementation seriously. Some of the impact are “lean enablers” such as an unintended leaning of the supply chain (E.g. no excess stock, some cases no stock at all!) and others force us to Lean (E.g. ban on foreign workers).
If organisations can use this ‘shock’ to kick-start their perhaps overdue “Lean journey”, we would have a real positive long-term impact. And we will be ready for competition and the next disaster (God forbid) when it comes.
