The Industrial Relations (Amendment) Act has been tabled and passed by the Dewan Rakyat on October 9, 2019 and Dewan Negara on December 19, 2019. The amended Act contains 29 amendments and has introduced four new provisions. The Act will come into effect on a date to be determined by the Minister via notification in the Gazette. Companies should attend this seminar to be aware on the key changes to the Industrial Relations Act and the implications of the amendments to employers

Ms. Usha Rani Supayah joined the Labour Department of Sarawak in January 2002. Between 2003 to 2007, she served as Assistant Director and Trade Unions Officer in the Department of Trade Unions Affairs and was responsible to manage the affairs of trade unions in Federal Territory, Selangor and Pahang. In 2007, she pursued her Master’s degree in Industrial Psychology in National University of Malaysia (UKM). In January 2010, she was appointed as Principal Assistant Director of Industrial Relations till today. She also has a Bachelors’ Degree in Jurisprudence from University Malaya (UM) and Bachelors’ Degree in Social Science specializing in Industrial Relations and Labour Studies from University of Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).
