FMM Selangor & Kuala Lumpur Briefing on Endorsement of Non-Preferential Certificate of Origin (NPCO)
|November 24, 2023
|09:00 AM - 11:00 AM
|Shah Alam - Selangor - FMM Selangor & Kuala Lumpur Branch
Increasingly, more countries are requiring importers to produce certificates of origin (CO) to establish the country of origin of these imports. Hence very often, one of the crucial terms and conditions of the Letter of Credit (LC) or business contracts would be for the exporter to secure a CO duly endorsed by a trade association. Failure to comply with the expressed requirement of the buyer may result in the exporter facing possible payment problems or the imported consignment facing Customs clearance difficulties.
Registration Deadline: November 16, 2023
FMM, being a member of the National Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia as well as the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris, has been authorised by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry(MITI) to issue NPCOs since 1982. Our track record shows that many countries have found that NPCOs issued by FMM to be reliable and acceptable.
FMM Selangor & KL Branch will be organising a briefing to provide FMM members and non-members with a better understanding on the guidelines on applying for NPCO, including an avenue to share experiences and problems faced on NPCO,
Participants will be briefed on:
● Rules and procedures for endorsement.
● The importance of correct declaration of information by exporters on NPCO.
Current and new NPCO applicants especially Trading companies and Manufacturers whore-export spare parts or product imported from overseas are highly recommended to learn about the Back-to-Back guidelines and to ensure that their export business are not affected and supply chains not disrupted.
Who should attend - Staff of companies who are directly involved in preparing the NPCO (e.g. shipping clerks, executives, administrative assistants), senior management staff, logistics/ export/ shipping managers/purchasing/sales executives who are responsible for exports and import activities.
