Malaysia–Philippines Business Engagement with Key Government and Industry Stakeholders on September 8, 2026 in Manila
The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM), in collaboration with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) Kuala Lumpur, successfully organised the Malaysia–Philippines Business Engagement with Key Government and Industry Stakeholders on September 8, 2026, at Lanson Place Mall of Asia, Manila, Philippines.
The engagement was attended by 40 participants, comprising Malaysian business delegates, Philippine government representatives and key industry stakeholders. The engagement was graced by His Excellency Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino Anthony, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of the Philippines, and attended by FMM President, Mr Jacob Lee Chor Kok, together with FMM President Emeritus, Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Soh Thian Lai; Ms Norjamin G. Delos Reyes, Commercial Counsellor, PTIC Kuala Lumpur; and key representatives from FMM.
The programme commenced with Welcome Remarks by FMM President, Mr Jacob Lee Chor Kok, followed by remarks from His Excellency Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino Anthony, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of the Philippines, and Ms Norjamin G. Delos Reyes, Commercial Counsellor, PTIC Kuala Lumpur.
The session featured presentations by Ms Azlina Binti Che Dir, Trade Commissioner, MATRADE Manila; Ms Evariste M. Cagatan, Executive Director, Investment Promotions Services Group, Philippine Board of Investments (BOI); and Ms Vivian S. Santos, Deputy Director General for Operations, Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA). The presentations provided insights into Malaysia–Philippines trade and investment opportunities, the Philippine investment landscape, investment facilitation and economic zone opportunities for Malaysian businesses.
The engagement provided participating Malaysian companies with a better understanding of the Philippine market and investment environment, while facilitating direct engagement with relevant government agencies and industry stakeholders. The programme concluded with a Business Networking Session, providing an avenue for delegates to establish connections, exchange views and explore potential areas of business collaboration.
The engagement reaffirmed FMM’s commitment to strengthening Malaysia–Philippines trade and investment relations and facilitating meaningful business connections that can translate into greater commercial opportunities for businesses from both countries.
