The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturing (FMM) and HELP University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 11, 2026, at HELP University’s Subang Bestari Campus, marking an important step towards closer collaboration between industry and academia.

The MoU was signed by FMM Vice President Datuk Noraini Soltan on behalf of FMM and HELP University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Andy Liew Teik Kooi on behalf of HELP University. The signing was witnessed by FMM President Mr Jacob Lee Chor Kok and HELP University Chancellor Datuk Professor Dr Paul Chan.

Also representing FMM at the ceremony were Vice Presidents Dato’ J Palaniappan, Ms Michelle Hah and Ir Ter Leong Leng, as well as Dr Helena Eian, FMM Council Member and Chairman of the FMM Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Branch.

The three-year partnership will focus on collaborative research and industry studies; talent, leadership and skills development; artificial intelligence, data analytics and digital transformation; workplace well-being; ESG, governance and compliance; and knowledge sharing.

In his address, Mr Jacob Lee emphasised that the success of the partnership should be measured by tangible outcomes, from addressing industry challenges and supporting technology adoption among SMEs to commercialising research, strengthening workforce capabilities and enhancing the competitiveness of Malaysian manufacturing.

FMM looks forward to working closely with HELP University’s academics, researchers and students to translate knowledge and innovation into practical solutions for a more productive, sustainable and globally competitive manufacturing sector.
