Kuala Lumpur, June 26, 2018 - The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) applauds the initiative by the Ministry of Finance to set up the Tabung Harapan Malaysia trust fund in response to the rakyat’s crowdfunding initiative to help the country alleviate its national debt.
FMM believes that our government is capable of meeting the challenges ahead, especially in reducing the burden of national debt and improving efficiency & prudence in using public funds.
As the representative voice of the Malaysian manufacturing sector, FMM stands in solidarity with our beloved nation by contributing a sum of RM1 million to Tabung Harapan Malaysia.
FMM President, Dato’ Soh Thian Lai, presented the cheque on behalf of the federation to Yang Berhormat Finance Minister, Tuan Lim Guan Eng, in his office in Putrajaya yesterday afternoon.
Before the cheque presentation, Dato’ Soh and Tuan Lim exchanged views on how the manufacturing sector can assist to improve the economy.
