A GLOVE manufacturing hub will be built in Bidor.

Mentri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu said the RM1.5bil integrated facility by Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd would provide 6,000 job opportunities.

“The company is one of the biggest glove manufacturers in Malaysia.

“We are happy that the company will invest in Perak,” he said after witnessing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between Kossan Rubber and Perak State Development Corporation (PKNP).

The signatories were the company’s group managing director Tan Sri Lim Kuang Sia and PKNP’s chief executive Mohd Ariff Yeop Ishak.

Lim hoped the construction would start by the first quarter of 2019, and work completed in two years.

“Bidor was chosen due to its location, which is not far from our headquarters in Klang.

“The 323ha land offered by the state is also suitable for our future expansion,” he added.

Lim said the company’s products were sold to 190 countries worldwide.

Earlier, Ahmad Faizal witnessed the signing agreement between MB Inc and developer ECK Sdn Bhd to construct 321 affordable homes on a 10ha land in Tronoh.

The houses will be sold at RM90,000 each.

Ahmad Faizal said priority would be given to married couples and first-time house buyers.
