Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers Head Quarters (HQ), Youth Committee (YC) chaired by Mr. Brian Soo, Chairman of FMM HQ YC, FMM HQ YC Deputy Chairman Stanley Siew and FMM HQ Head of Visits Ngeam Tse Soon had organised a Fireside Chat Dinner Talk on October 27, 2022, from 6.30 pm to 9.30 pm at The Ship Campus, Simpang Ampat, Pulau Pinang.

FMM HQ YC co-organized with FMM Penang Youth Committee chaired by FMM Penang Youth Committee (YC) chair by Dr. Matin Ng, FMM Penang YC Chairman and FMM YC Deputy Chairman, Mr Yen Wei Yun. Also attended the Dinner, FMM Penang Branch Chairman, Dato’ Lee Teong Li as guests of Honor.

The topic of the fireside chat was “ESG in Manufacturing” from the perspective of youth. ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance. Fireside Chat Dinner Talk is more on the sharing session on the importance and benefits of ESG in manufacturing and how ESG could pivoting business strategies to become sustainable has become a business imperative for all companies. Apart from that, this Fireside Chat Dinner Talk was to foster closer rapport with FMM Members and also to set up and promote youth in manufacturing.

This panel session was moderated by FMM HQ YC Chairman, Mr. Brian Soo of Fire Fighter Industry Sdn Bhd, and the other panel members are invited to share on their point of view on ESG. Panel members are:-

i.                 Ms Heng Charng Yee, Chief Executive Officer of Globetronics Technology Berhad

ii.                Ms Loo Yee Lian, Corporate Human Resources Manager of Engtek Group 

iii.               Mr Purushoth, Business Development Manager of Shan Poornam Metals Sdn. Bhd.

According to the panel sharing session, driving ESG in manufacturing is our responsibility to preserve our future generation and to move towards green technology. Dato’ Lee Teong Li mentioned on his closing remarks, that FMM YC is a good platform for young generation to evolve and learn more about manufacturing to gain current time knowledge in the manufacturing industries. “To bring more young people to understand what is Manufacturing”, stated by Dato’ Chairman FMM Penang.

Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers Youth Committee from HQ and Branches will be having more collaboration activities in future to captivate more youth who are keen in the manufacturing industry.
