Separating Waste a Requirement

Starting September 1, 2015, households in Malacca will be required to separate their waste as required under Act 672 of the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management 2007. A compound of RM1000 will be imposed on households from January 2016 if they fail to separate their waste accordingly. It was mentioned that recycle items like papers and plastic bottles would be collected once a week while the collection of other waste will remain twice a week.
