Malacca has been honoured by the Federal Government to debut the Urban Transformation Centre (UTC), a centralised service providing hub. The state's UTC will occupy former Wisma Dunia Melayu Dunia Islam (DDMI) building at jalan Tan Chay Yan, which is currently undergoing a facelift to facilitate the opening by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak on June 23, 2012.

The establishment of UTC is in line with the Government Transformation Programme (GTP). There will be 60 government and government-linked agencies that will be operating in the building from June 1, 2012.
