Melaka District ACP Salehhudin Abd. Rahman reported that there is a 7.6% of decrease in the crime rate in the state from January 1-October 2, 2011 compared to the same period of time in 2010. 51% of the reported 2,658 crime cases have been resolved with the rest still under investigation. Most of the cases reported were motorcycle theft.
