 TheFederation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Malacca Branch will be organizingthe above safety and health training on November 21, 2012 (Wednesday) atHotel Equatorial Melaka from 9.00am to 5.00pm. The speaker for the trainingwill be En. Abd Malek bin Omar, Safety Consultant.

            Machine safety is critical for worker safety, because machines have many waysto injure workers: Many machines have moving parts, sharp edges, and hotsurfaces with the potential to cause severe workplace injuries such as crushedfingers or hands, amputations, burns, or blindness. Safeguards are essentialfor protecting workers from these preventable injuries. Any machine part,function, or process that might cause injury must be safeguarded. When theoperation of a machine may result in a contact injury to the operator or othersin the vicinity, the hazards must be eliminated or controlled.

             This programme will help to point out the importance of machine safety sothat through the implementation of preventive measures, the overallmanufacturing environment in the company can be safer and more efficient.

At the end of the programme, participants will:-

  • Understand the basic safety, legal requirements pertaining to machinehandling
  •  Be aware and familiar with hazards and risks associated with machines
  •  Understand the importance of machinery safety andmaintenance
