• The training scheme allows employers to claim for pre-employment training for their future workers before the latter enters into employment as a permanent worker.

• Terms and conditions of the scheme are:

  • The maximum number of trainees is 20 per class for a maximum duration of 2 months;
  • The scheme is only for in-house training at the employer’s premises including on-the-job training AND using internal trainers;
  • Trainees must be offered employment upon completing the pre-employment training;

  • Financial assistance includes:

    • RM500 per day for Internal Trainer’s Allowance or RM5.00 per hour per trainee if the number of trainees is less than 5;
    • Meal allowance at RM20 per day per person for both trainers and trainees;
    • Consumable training materials; and

    • Allowance at a maximum of RM500 per month per trainee during training.

• The application for financial assistance must be submitted at least 7 working days before training com-mences using form PSMB/FWT/T/1/11, together with a structured training programme (session plan), orientation / familiarisation programme and on-the-job training.

• Claims shall be submitted upon completing training using form PSMB/FWT/1/11 together with the rele-vant supporting documents. The closing date for submitting claims for training completed in a particular year is by 30th June of the following year.

• The structured training programme plan should include the following:

  • Objectives
  • Company background (name, number of years established, products/services, number of existing workers)
  • Justification for training (reasons for the need for workers, number of future workers needed and basis, why pre-training is important)
  • Training structure (start and end dates, duration, daily session plan)
  • Trainer’s biodata (name, qualifications, years of experience).
