On July 12, 2024, Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services (MAQIS) issued a notification on the waiver of inspection charges for export of fish inspected at all exit points.
As stipulated in the Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services Regulations (Fees and Charges) 2013 [P.U.(A) 115/2013], MAQIS imposes an inspection fee of RM0.05 per kg for containers or any other storage units holding more than 100 kg of fish. The export inspection charges for fish refers to the fees imposed on exporters for each consignment that is inspected before exportation.
As advocated by FMM to assist in reducing the export cost, MAQIS has
AGREED to exempt the export inspection charges of RM0.05 per kg at all exit points effective
August 1, 2024.
