The Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) officially launched the Compliance Verification Audit Programme or also known as
Audit Verifikasi Pematuhan (AviP) on July 10, 2024. The focus of this new initiative is to strengthen tax compliance based on awareness, education and facilitation.
This AviP initiative offers taxpayers the opportunity to correct past discrepancies and ensure future compliance while benefiting from the penalty remissions provided by RMCD. One of the main goals of AViP is to promote self-compliance.
The advantages of participating in the AViP programme include the followings:
- 100% penalty remission if payment is made within six months from the date of disclosure.
- 50% penalty remission if payment is made after six months but within twelve months from the date of disclosure.
- Option to pay the bill of demand issued in instalments.
- No compound will be imposed.
To provide better understanding on this new initiative and Customs facilities including the AviP, FMM is organising a
Seminar on Taking Advantage of Customs Trade Facilities to Benefit Your Business [HRDC Claimable] to be held from October 1-2, 2024 at One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya.
