FMM members from the Eastern region met personnel  from Majlis Perbandaran Kuantan (MPK) on March 5, 2018 . 12 participants representing nine member companies attended the dialogue session held at FMM Eastern Branch office.

Among the issues raised during the dialogue session:

• Faulty street lamp
• Request for upgrading of roads leading to factories
• Overgrown trees
• Illegal parking along the road at Kg Selamat
• Illegal roadside vendors at Jalan Tanjung Gelang
• Drainage problems
• Issues of dogs/monkeys

Outcome

YH Dato’ Haji Fadzilla B Haji Salleh and his team assured the necessary actions will be taken by MPK if it falls within the jurisdiction of MPK.  

Actions by MPK are:

• Illegal vendors will be taken to task by the enforcement officers.
• A discussion will be held with the Veterinary Department on the issue of dogs and monkeys.
• Immediate action will be taken to ease the drainage issues
• Operations will be conducted on the issue of illegal/double parking along roads

Suggestions by MPK are:

• “Gotong-royong” session by members around Gebeng industrial area
•  Landscaping around the Gebeng area. This is would ease income tax of participating companies
