FMM Courtesy Call on En. Abu Bakar Yusof, new MATRADE CEO

On March 13, 2026, Mr Jacob Lee Chor Kok, FMM President, accompanied by Dato’ Andrew Goh Boon Kim, FMM Deputy President, Ms Michelle Hah Mei Kian, FMM Vice President, Dr Helena Eian Yeut Lan, Chairman of FMM Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Branch, and Datuk Dr Yeoh Oon Tean, FMM CEO paid a courtesy call on the new MATRADE Chief Executive Officer, En Abu Bakar Yusof, at Bilik Mesyuarat Utama, MATRADE Tower.

During the meeting, Mr Jacob highlighted several recommendations to strengthen trade support for Malaysia’s manufacturing sector and enhance export competitiveness. These included the establishment of an Export Crisis Response Task Force, enhanced FTA utilisation support and capacity building, improvements to the Market Development Grant (MDG), the creation of a Special National Export Resilience Fund, reinstatement of the Brand Promotion Grant (BPG), and shifting promotional participation from ad hoc charges to an annual partnership model,
