UPDATE 37/2021: Loading and Unloading Activities for Non-Essential Cargo at Factory Warehouse Now Allowed 24 Hours 7 Days A Week

Majlis Keselamatan Negara (MKN) on September 12, 2021 has agreed to allow all loading and unloading activities of non-essential cargo at factory warehouses for the purpose of import and export from/to ports and airports 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with immediate effect. The Ministry of Transport (MOT) has issued a Press Statement with updated SOP for Transport and Logistics on September 12, 2021.

Previously, loading and unloading of non-essential goods carried out at factory premises was limited to Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Although loading and unloading activities can now be carried out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the importer / exporter must still obtain a one-off approval from the nearest Police Station to open the factory warehouse for loading and unloading activities. The remaining guideline for loading and unloading still applies as per FMM
