Tan Sri Dato’ Soh Thian Lai today (April 2, 2024) led the Government-Industry TVET Coordination Body (GITC) Roundtable Discussion on the Way Forward for Industry Driven TVET in Malaysia which saw the participation of over 120 representatives from the public and private sectors. The Roundtable was organised with the objective of bringing together the GITC’s main stakeholders to brainstorm on key areas of strategic cooperation, Occupational / Industry Standards and Practices (OISP), promotion/branding and incentives towards realising the TVET empowerment agenda including strengthening the industry-academia/TVET institution collaboration and enabling the GITC to further prioritise their initiatives for 2024.

The public sector was represented by the Ministry of Higher Education, its departments and agencies including the Public Institutions of Higher Learning; and the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development while the private sector was represented by the GITC MoU partners comprising industry associations and chambers of commerce.
