FMM President YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Soh Thian Lai in his capacity as the Chairman of the Government-Industry TVET Coordination Body (GITC) led a team of GITC Board members and the management team of GITC in paying a courtesy call on YB Puan Fadhlina Sidek, Minister of Education on July 30, 2024 at the Ministry of Education, Putrajaya. The visit was aimed at strengthening strategic collaboration between the GITC and the Ministry of Education (MOE) in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and in particular on creating the awareness on TVET career opportunities via TVET awareness campaigns and career talks targeting Form 3 students and parents. In further promoting TVET and encouraging public private collaboration via industrial linkages, it was proposed that a TVET Champion Award be introduced targeting the Vocational Colleges under MOE.
Also present at the courtesy call were GITC Board members Dato’ J Palaniappan, Dato’ P’ng Soo Hong and Ts Sharifah Zaida Nurlisha Syed Ibrahim as well as GITC CEO En Jamil Bakri.
