We are pleased to inform that the Chemical Industries Council of Malaysia (CICM) with the support of the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) and the Japan Chemical Industry Association (JCIA) will be organizing the Global Product Strategy (GPS) Awareness Seminar. This awareness seminar with the theme “Towards Safe and Responsible Management of Chemicals through GPS” will provide an introduction to chemical companies on GPS; which seeks to improve Responsible Care’s practice on product stewardship within the industry and throughout the supply chain as part of its commitments to the UN-led Strategic Approach for International Chemicals Management (SAICM).
We have gathered an international team of experts to speak and also to share their related experience at the seminar. It will begin with an introduction to the Global Product Strategy (GPS) and Product Stewardship (PS) by Dr Caroline Li of BASF Singapore. To provide better understanding on GPS, there will be sharing of case studies on Risk Characterization and Management by Ms Ika Suryani of Dow Indonesia and also a JCIA member. Our team of experts from ICCA / JCIA will also delve on topics pertaining to Assessing and Managing Chemical Risks, GPS Risk Assessment Guidance Overview and also the specifics of gathering information for risk assessment. Our invited speaker from the Malaysian Government will also provide an overview on the chemicals management policy in Malaysia. Several question & answer (Q&A) sessions are scheduled into the programme for participants to interact with the speakers.

The registration (per participant) for this seminar is RM 200 for Responsible Care signatories & CICM members and RM 300 for non-members, which will include seminar materials and refreshments.
