FMM-MATRADE Export Acceleration Mission to Mandalay & Yangon, Myanmar
FMM, in collaboration with Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) is organising a trade and investment mission to Mandalay & Yangon, Myanmar under MATRADE’s Export Acceleration Mission Programme. Details of the event as follows:

The main objective of the trade mission is to facilitate FMM members to explore areas of business collaboration with the Myanmar business community. Briefings on business opportunities in Myanmar and individual business matching meetings will be arranged with members of the Mandalay Region Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MRCCI) and the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI).

Myanmar was Malaysia’s sixth largest trading partner within ASEAN in year 2015. Total trade amounted to RM3,752 million with exports valued at RM 3,065 million while imports amounted to RM687 million. Trade opportunities offered by Myanmar include joint-venture, distributorship, franchise and marketing in various sectors such as food and beverages, consumer electronics, automobiles, construction, garments and healthcare.

Eligible SMIs can claim RM2,000/- for this mission under the revised guidelines of the Market Development Grant made effective May 1, 2016. The breakdown is as follows:
